Sepher Raziel
The seven books of the angel's secrets
AN OCCULT HALL ILLUSTRATIONEnter its world.
The English Sepher Raziel in Sloane MS 3846 describes an interdependent world of celestial movements, natural materials, spiritual agents and sacred language. Its seven treatises supply different parts of that world: a stone’s attributed virtue, a planet’s condition and a divine name do not perform the same function.
Thirteen editorial lessons develop these teachings through particular passages, from the celestial key and natural wings to monthly angelic companies and the material preparation of a sacred copy. Thirteen is our editorial course arrangement, not the number of the historical treatises. The hosted Hebrew 1881 Sefer Raziel is a related but different witness: these English lessons do not claim matching pages in it. The Adam-and-Solomon narrative is the work’s account of its own authority.
